Velvet Underground rare LP brings in $155,401 on eBay
Warren Hill, a record collector from Montreal, just made a profit of $155,400.25 for a single record. For 75 cents, Hill purchased a 12-inch, acetate LP which contained the first Velvet Underground recording ever, and of all places at a Manhattan flea market, back in September 2002.
The record was created during Velvet Underground's first recording over four days in April 1966 at New York's Scepter Studios. It is reported that only two are in existence; the other is privately owned. No information has been given about the identity of the eBay winner either. You can read the entire story here
