"Wanted to keep everyone posted on happenings or non-happenings in the the world of Colossal. We are currently not practicing, but Pat is busy writing songs for what should eventually be a new record, which is tentatively titled "Den of Metal Arts." Look out for some Pat Ford solo shows in Chicago and DeKalb and such in the coming months - he'll be playing some new Colossal stuff. Our aim is to start practicing again in March or April and play some shows by summer. We hope it happens and that one or two of you are still interested. New songs are maybe a bit shorter and poppier with a focus on tasty beats - "do ya think I'm sexy" immediately comes to mind as a reference point….And we ARE indeed looking for a new guitarist, preferably one who can also play a little piano or synth, use a delay pedal, and/or sing a bit. So if you're serious and pretty fucking tasty, contact us.
Beyond that, Rob is working on a country project, Chris is rocking with The Heavens, I am rocking library school, and Neil is playing anonymously with some of R.Kelly's former associates while the Lawrence Arms are on break. That's about it. Check out the Thick "Hair" Comp if you need a fix for a newish Colossal song, and look out for a GreyFlight Records comp that will have an unreleased Colossal song on it sometime in summer, or so they say. Thanks to everyone for continued interest and please keep in touch.
