76% Uncertain, Murphys Law, Northside Kings, more play for George Tabb
A number off bands have stepped up to provide support for noted scene personality George Tabb. Tabb, both a Maximum Rock'n'Roll columnist and member of bands like Roach Motel, Atoms For Peace, False Prophets, Letch Patrol, Gynocologists, Iron Prostate and Furious George, was poisoned by the fallout from the September 11th attacks.
Now, Tabb is quite sick and suffering due to the illness itself and the astronomical costs of surgery and what Tabb describes as a complete lack of support from the government who insisted that people near the WTC site remain despite the poisonous fallout. Tabb recently updated his own site explaing:
am very vocal on this issue, appearing in magazines and newspapers, and have even been talking to The Mayors office and to Senator [Hillary] Clinton's office.
Clinton's office told me that the republicans turned down a bill to help some of us sick people, and we'll have to wait for the next session. COME ON.....some of us may not make it that long. This in not a right vs. left issue...it's right vs. wrong. It's wrong to let volunteers, first responders, residents, workers, and most of all, firemen and cops get sick and die - and without dignity.
The benefit is set to take place July 7th and 8th at The Hook in Brooklyn. More information will be made available on the benefit's official myspace page.
