PETA2 recruits Rise Against, Thursday, Silverstein for anti-KFC video
PETA2 has recruited a number of bands for a new campaign targeting notorious fast food establishment KFC. The organization tapped Rise Against, Thursday, Silverstein, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, The Sleeping, Story of the Year and Hawthorne Heights for the new PSA and notes:
Chickens raised and killed for KFC endure the worst abuses imaginable--their bones are often broken, their throats are slit while they're still conscious, and many are scalded to death in defeathering tanks. Workers at a KFC "Supplier of the Year" were documented punching live birds, spitting tobacco into their eyes, and spray-painting their faces
Though both are vegans, Tim and Joe from Rise Against note that the campaign is not asking people to stop eating meat, but primarily aiming to draw attention to animal welfare issues.
