Break-ups: Groovie Ghoulies (1989-2007)
It looks like Sacramento's Groovie Ghoulies have called it quits. The band posted the following message via a MySpace bulletin
It is with deep regret and sorrow that we must inform you that we have parted ways as a band for personal reasons. We thank you for your tireless love and support over the years and encourage you to continue to support the bands we have played with in Sacramento and beyond.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to respond to any messages sent to our MySpace account. We ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time. Again, we are deeply grateful for all the love you have shown us.
This development comes just before the release of the band's new full length 99 Lives. The Green Door Recording Co. will be handling the release, which is expected on May 15th. The release follows up 2005's Chuck Berry tribute Berry'd Alive. The Ghoulies roots / country alter ego the Haints recently put out a record as well.
