Green Day talks new album
Green Day recently spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about the upcoming follow up to American Idiot.
As far as progress goes, things are currently in a state of "total chaos" with little in the way of themes defined at present. He also has been writing on a piano rather than the guitar on which he composed previous albums.
Billie Joe added:
I want to dig into who I am and what I'm feeling at this moment – which is middle–aged. We've been doing this for almost twenty years now. You want to make sure you're being honest with yourself. I also have to ask myself, 'What's real out there?'" Right now it seems stagnant.
So we're only in our second year of bearing down and finding out what we want to do. I just want to put my head down and keep grinding at it.
The band's last album won a myriad of awards and garnered the most critical and commercial acclaim the band had seen since their breakthrough 1994 album, Dookie.
