Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Brian Deneke was a punk in Amarillo, Texas and was killed by a "jock". Amarillo is a town where there has been a lingering "punks" vs. "jocks" dispute for a long time.

The killer, Dustin Camp, merely received probation as a result of the criminal case, after intentionally running Brian Deneke down in a parking lot, while driving a 1983 Cadillac over two years ago.

Dustin Camp was not convicted of murder, but instead of manslaughter, and received a 10-year probation, and $10,000 dollar fine. Dustin Camp's defense lawyer, Warren Clark, made it quite clear that Clark felt in murder cases, "appearance matters".

This is clearly a case of discrimination against punks - merely for looking different, and living a lifestyle that is not what is held as "traditional".

Brian's skull and chest were crushed, and his collarbone was torn up, as he laid dying in his brothers arms. His parents never had a chance to say goodbye.

His parents and family are about to begin the civil lawsuit, and more attention is needed in regards to this issue.

ABC-TV's "20/20 Downtown" ran a story on this on 01/06/2000, detailing this incident. And, in 01/11/2000, the Leeza Gibbons Show will be running a segment as well, entitled "Punks vs. Preps".

Please visit the website we have created , to find out more information, and to let us know if you would be interested in assisting to spread word about this incident. We'd appreciate it, as would Brian, and his family.

Please pass this letter on to who you feel would or should be interested.

Thanks in advance,
