Uncle Seek Wants YOU!
"Yes, Uncle Seek needs your help again, and this time it doesn't involve rubbing tanning oil all over my thighs. You see, since fat free radio went down, there is no good place for an honest punk to hear some tunes. There are, however, lots of good shows that go live once or twice a week(ie. scott's show). Well, I have a dream my friends. I dream that the best punk and related live shows are unified! Yes, unity. Click "read more" for more, duh."
This is a great idea; anyone with a radio show should read on.
I will spare all the technical details, and just keep it simple for now. I need people with radio shows that currently (or will) run at a specific time and day of the week, though more than one day a week is fine. There will be a main URL for the radio station network, and judging by what time and day it is, that URL will redirect to the playfile for the currently active live show. So, if Gay Earl's Happy Funtime Hour is on from 8-10 on Monday, and you go to the URL at 9, the URL will automatically connect you to Gay Earl's show. Get it? Good. Well you may ask, why, Mr. Bush, why are you hellbent on creating the third world war? I say, hey, I'm not Mr. Bush, but I'd say he is just trying to one-up his dad. Now, if you were to ask me, what do you do when there are no shows scheduled? I'd say, ideally there would be a station on my server that would transmit random mp3s (like fat free radio did) when there aren't live shows. I say ideally because I currently don't have a server, and I am poor. However, that could be taken care of soon, but I'd still have bandwidth restrictions, so I'd have to limit the amount of listeners that can connect during non-live time. OK, I'm blabbering… if you have a show, are capable of having a show, always dreamed of having a show, contact me. What do you get out of it? Well, there will be a lot more people aware of your show, as there will be a centralized network of the best punk radio shows on the net, with a site that shows the entire schedule. I'd do advertising from time to time too. I'd say that is incentive enough, because it comes at NO compromise to you. You stay on the server you are, with the URL you have, you keep your web site if you have one. All that will change is there will be a URL for the network that will, when your show is on, redirect anyone going to it to your show, hence increasing your listenership. Sound good? Then send an email to seek@pogmania.com, or check out Mediaocre Industries (which has nothin on it about this venture, I just want you to go to my site, asshole).
