Four Star Alarm update on recording, new album, tours, etc.

Four Star Alarm have posted a blog update concerning their recent goings–on. The Chicago quartet are preparing to enter the studio where they plan to record the follow–up to their 2006 self–titled Thick Records EP. They also discuss touring plans, possibly working with J. Robbins and contributing to a Seaweed tribute.
In addition to their EP, Four Star Alarm released a two–song 7" on Underground Communique Records last fall which featured their cover of "Tilted" from a limited Russian released Sugar tribute album.

Whats up everyone!
We have been laying low since we got back from out Westcoast tour in February. It has been productive though and I have some good news! We are heading into the studio next week !!! I know it has been almost 2 years since the Thick Records E.P.,but I think you will agree that it was worth the wait once you hear this rocker! We are going to start recording the drums with Andy Gerber, (Smoking Popes,etc..) who recorded our cover of the Sugar song "Tilted" on that is on the 7" that we released last year. Then, over the month of May,we are going to work on recording the guitars and vocals.
I also talked to J Robbins today(Jawbox, Burning Airlines, etc…) and he said he is totally on board to mix it once we are done. So,either we are going to go with J. for the mixes or have Jon Drew (Tokyo Police Club, Fucked Up,etc..),who recorded our last record, mix it. Either way,we are really excited !

I really feel like this is going to be the best record I have been a part of. We will keep you updated with the progress of the it. We don't really have any shows booked right (the record is the priority now), but we are hopefully going to be making it out East in August for a couple weeks of shows. I don't really have any details, but that is the tenative plan. As for when the record is done,we are not really sure right now what label it is going to be released on. Things are up in the air with all that right now, but when we know you will know! If you are really wondering what the new record is sounding like, I put a demo of 1 of our new songs called "Vultures" in our Snocap spot on this page. If you end up checking it out,let us know what you think.

Also, the Seaweed tribute on Engineer Records will finally be release in June, I believe. We are so stoked to be a part of this. Our cover of the Seaweed classic "Squint" came out pretty fucking rocking! This should be an amazing compilation and definetly worth picking up.

Rock!
