F*cked Up announce "Year of The Pig" remixes, confirm signing to Matador
After recently announcing the completion of their newest album, Toronto hardcore luminaries Fucked Up officially announced their partnership with Matador Records via their blog.
Matador confirmed the deal by disclosing the band's first release on the label. Fucked Up's 18 minute long monster Year of The Pig EP will get a re-release/remix treatment on the American label. Both the original 12" and a series of 7" remixes will be pressed by What Your Rupture and sold through Matador.
According to a post on labels's blog, "...there are three edits of the title track and three unreleased tracks. Each edit and each unreleased track will be featured on one of three 7″ singles, each with a different sleeve, to be released in the US, the UK, and Japan respectively." To keep the vinylphobes happy, Matador also plans to release all of the Year of The Pig related material (original track, remixes, and all b-sides) on a CDEP.
The 12" re-release, 7" remixes, and CDEP will all be released Worldwide on July 22, 2008.
