Ben Folds "leaks" fake album, talks real one

As the press machine revs up for his upcoming album, Ben Folds has confessed to leaking a number of new tracks, but not the real ones. He spoke to Rolling Stone, explaining:

Only the songs weren't real -- he spent eight hours recording "fake" versions of six tracks during a late-night Dublin, Ireland session in early July, then let friends work their magic on the Web. Folds says the group rented studio time with nine joke songs in eight hours as the goal.

Ben also discussed the new album, and some the inspirations behind the songs themselves. You can check out the entire interview here.

The record is titled Way to Normal and is due out September 30, 2008. It is the follow-up to Supersunnyspeedgraphic: The LP which was released in 2006.
