Biafra comes out swinging...

Billboard is reporting that Jello Biafra’s attorney has just filed suit in Alameda California against the former Dead Kennedys. The suit alleges that Jello’s former band mates are recording new music with “a Biafra impersonator” and that the touring Dead Kennedys have used his name, picture, and identity to promote new live recordings and performances. Thirdly, Biafra claims the band has failed to dissolve the Decay Music partnership assets as ordered by the court in the original ruling. The suit asks for punitive and compensatory damages of more than $25,000 (which is a drop in the bucket compared to the $200,000 Biafra lost in the first suit).
It’s funny to see where the opinions of other people in the punk community lie on this issue. In Toronto a few weeks ago, Greg Graffin (who I’ve never heard talk shit about any band) warned the crowd at the Bad Religion show to not be fooled when “the greatest karaoke band of all time” featuring “our good friend Brandon Cruz” comes their way…
