AFI set to record new full length
AFI has wrapped up writing for their forthcoming eighth album, and will be hitting the studio to record it soon. Guitarist and songwriter Jade Puget explained via the band's blog:
We've officially finished writing the 8th AFI album, and now we enter the studio to put it on tape. We have a fabulous producer we'll be working with, David Bottrill, who has worked on some fantastic and legendary albums by Peter Gabriel, Muse, Silverchair, Placebo, and Tool. We've spent this whole year crafting these songs and we're impatient to share them, so let's get busy.
The new record is expected in 2009 and follows 2006's Decemberunderground. In the intervening years, band members kept busy with a variety of projects. Bassist Hunter Burgan formed Hunter's Revenge and briefly rejoined The Force. Jade and Davey released an electronic side project, Blaqk Audio. Jade also remixed the Cure while Davey developed his own fashion line.
