The Movielife has a guitar problem
"Sources close to Drive-Thru Records report Alex Amiruddin, lead guitarist for the Long Island quintet The Movielife has left the band. This hasn't been confirmed as of yet or how it would effect upcoming tour dates with Boxcar Racer or Face To Face."
We've had this news for a few days but I was hesitant to post it because I couldn't find confirmation anywhere. Drive-Thru did confirm it today on their webpage, though - you can read their statement below.
It is with TREMENDOUS sadness that we'd like to let everyone know Alex has left The Movielife. His last show with the band was yesterday in Las Vegas (an awesome last show since it was with his friends in Thursday…one of the greatest, coolest and nicest bands ever). This was a friendly parting of ways, and he is and will remain close with the members. And of course, he will always be a great friend our ours. We love you Alex!
Alex is starting a new band, who we have already worked out a development deal with, so stay tuned to find out more in the upcoming months. We're very excited to see what amazing stuff he comes up with next.
The Movielife will not cancel any dates, and Phil's brother Dan will be temporarily filling in on guitar. Don't forget to catch them on the California Boxcar Racer dates and the Face to Face tour.
