Marked Men stream new tracks, announce tracklist, dispel breakup rumors
Denton, TX's The Marked Men have posted two new songs to their MySpace page. The tracks are titled "Fortune" and "Ditch" and are off of the group's new album Ghosts, set for release on January 27, 2009.
The band had this to say about their rumored demise:
'Hiatus' may not be the right word to use. It's all up in the air. With Jeff in Japan, Joe in El Paso, Mike having two kids, I really don't know if we'll be able to play again. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. It's okay, though. The band had been around for a while, since 2002. I don't want to beat it to death.

"We started recording "Ghosts" in May 2008 and worked on it until Jeff left for Japan on July 25th. We recorded it at Jeff's house in a garage converted into a bedroom. For us, recording is always a messy processâ¦trying different microphones, trying different parts to flesh out the songs, obsessing over details no one but us will ever really care about, wondering if what we're doing is worthwhile or just a bunch of nonsense. We always use tape, a big hunk of a reel-to-reel machine that must weigh 200 lbs and is a bitch to set up. In the midst of doing all this, Jeff was trying to go through his stuff and get ready for his move. The last few days we spent most all of our time sitting at the mixing board, taking a few breaks for food and sleep. I knew it would go down like that. I left Jeff's house at about three in the morning, a few hours before he had to leave. It was sad and strange for me to realize that there would be no more Marked Men.
