Sunday Edition: December 13th, 2009
Hello everybody and welcome to your all-new all-different Navel Gazing: your look back at the week in Punknews. I'm Adam White and I'll be your guide through some of the most popular, notable, and otherwise attention getting stories of the past seven days. Each and every Punknews story is built from tips contributed by you fine folks, and here's what got the community talking this week:
- Roger from Less Than Jake and Rehasher made waves this week when he spoke out against music piracy and commented on how it hurts record sales for independent bands. His comments raised quite the discussion and he responded back to the `Org commenters with further explanation.
- Bruce Springsteen posted a statement in support of gay marriage.
- Strung Out premiered their new video for the song "Carcrashradio"
- Teen Idols guitarist Phillip Hill was hospitalized following an attempt at a heroic rescue. Mass Giorgini who played in Screeching Weasel with Phil, set up an account to help raise money for his hospital bills.
- We also saw a video of Brett Adams of The Riot Before performing an acoustic rendition of "You Can't Sexy Dance to Punk Rock" whilst perched upon a toilet.
- Rivers Cuomo of Weezer was hospitalized following a bus accident, forcing the band to cancel their tour.
With that we hand over this Sunday evening to you, the Punknews community. From that glorious, likely bearded rabble we've see the creation of everything from message boards and Punknews fantasy sports leagues to even a band or two. So talk amongst yourselves and we'll see you Monday...
