Break-ups: Showoff (1997-2002)
Suburban Chicago pop-punks Showoff have called it quits. The band's official statement from their webpage:
"To all of the friends and fans of Showoff. I guess this would be our "official" statement on the status of our band. As of last week, we decided that we would call it quits. We had 5 years of great times (well, mostly) and we thank all of you for being a part of it! I can say personally that you kept me going when things were rough. We all plan on being involved in music after this in some form or another. Look for Dan and Kyle's new project called THE FOLD (thefoldmusic.com) with Neil Hebrank (The Juliana Theory) on drums. That's right, Dan will be up front on vocals from now on! Once we have more info on what Magoo and Chris plan to do, it will be posted. Unless if Magoo chooses to be in porn, and that will not be posted here. =)
We apologize to the kids who drove to come see us on tour last week, only to find that we were "broken up." In Chris' words, "we didn't intentionally hurt anyone's feelings, we just had a lot to deal with. It's been 5 nice long years and we appreciate everything the fans have given us." We will always appreciate the music and memories we made together, THANK YOU ALL!
-Dan, Chris, Kyle and Magoo."
