Sunday Edition: February 28th, 2010
I'm writing this before the men's gold medal game, so I'm just going to run with a picture of our girls having some victory brews out on the ice and hope for the best. It was either that or Norway's curling pants... Hello everybody and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back at the week in Punknews. I'm Adam White and I'll be your guide through some of the most popular, notable, and otherwise attention getting stories of the past seven days. Each and every Punknews story is built from tips contributed by you fine folks, and here's what got the community talking this week:
- Avail's Tim Barry broke his hand in onstage fight at a recent solo show
- Fearless Records is continuing their polarizing Punk Goes covers series, this time taking on Classic Rock
- Paper + Plastick has signed Boston's A Loss For Words
- The Fall of Troy have called it quits after almost 9 years
- Frank Black came right out and declared that the Pixies reunion shows are about money
- Alkaline Trio are set to perform on Letterman on March 10th
- We also saw two more studio videos from Against Me!
Also check out the Punknews Contests page for a chance to pick up some vinyl from hardcore/metal outfit All Shall Perish and show tickets from Four Year Strong.
With that we hand over this Sunday evening to you, the Punknews community. From that glorious, likely bearded rabble we've see the creation of everything from message boards and Punknews fantasy sports leagues to even a band or two. So talk amongst yourselves and we'll see you Monday...
