Early live Beastie Boys recording to be released
Long silent New York label RATcage Records has been resurrected in Switzerland. Among other projects, they are releasing a live recording of a 1982 concert featuring the punk incarnation of the Beastie Boys, Reagan Youth, and the Young and the Useless. The show was at CBGBs, the first night of a two-day benefit for RATcage. The Beasties at the time included founding members Adam Yauch (MCA) and Mike Diamond (Mike D) as well as guitarist John Berry and drummer Kate Schellenbach (now in Luscious Jackson). Future Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz (Ad Rock) played bass and fronted the Young and the Useless. The release is available via the label's web page.
