Government Issue reuniting this Saturday in D.C.
Legendary Washington, D.C. hardcore act Government Issue will be playing a sold-out one-off reunion show this Saturday, December 11 at their hometown's Black Cat venue. The event is a benefit to raise medical funds for local DJ Stereo Faith, who underwent surgery earlier this year to remove a tumor from his auditory canal. Government Issue is bringing togehter their late-'80s lineup of vocalist John Stabb, guitarist Tom Lyle, bassist J. Robbins, and drummer Pete Moffett. This was the group's lineup from 1986 through their breakup in 1989. They were featured (for the most part) on 1987's Releasing You, `88's Make an Effort EP and Crash.
Government Issue previously reunited for a one-off show in 2007 with a lineup of Stabb, Lyle, Brian Baker, and drummer William Knapp. This lineup billed themselves as Government Re-Issue and raised money for Stabb, who had been assaulted and required facial reconstructive surgery.
