Sunday Edition: January 23, 2011
Hello everyone and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back in the week in Punknews. I'm Adam White (back in the Sunday Edition saddle this week while Bryne Yancey donates a kidney)
and I'll be your guide through some of the juiciest, most popular and otherwise noteworthy stories from the last seven days. Remember, every Punknews story is built from tips from our wonderful, good-looking readers, so get to submitting. Here's what got the strange, slow and old community talking this week:
- Rise Against posted their new song "Help is On The Way"
- Coachella has booked a million bands including City and Colour, a reunited Death From Above 1979, Flogging Molly, Gogol Bordello, Jimmy Eat World, The Aquabats, OFF!, Titus Andronicus and Wire.
- Members of Fugazi are slated to appear at an "Instrument" screening in DC
- Melissa Etheridge is set to play the lead in Green Day's American Idiot broadway show
- Warped Tour added Set Your Goals, MC Lars, Abandon All Ships, and Foxy Shazam
- Angels and Airwaves confirmed a film festival screening for "Love"
- Thursday posted a cover of Bad Religion's "Generator"
With that, we hand over this Sunday evening to the Punknews community, where anything is possible, from the next amusing-then-overwrought meme, to the creation of bands and message boards, to alienating sports chatter. So talk amongst yourselves and we'll see you Monday morning.
