Polar Bear Club begin recording this week
Polar Bear Club will begin recording their next full length with producer Brian McTernan this week. Vocalist Jimmy Stadt said
Everyone says how excited they are about their new record and we are no exception. We really have never been this excited about making a record and cannot wait to have it out there. It's PBC for sure and you can decide what's different about it from prior records for yourselves - the bottom line is we are thrilled about these songs and feel like we are in a really good place as a band as a result of them.
Last year, the band hinted at some changes coming for the new album:
I think the next record will maintain the variety of songs that we like, but the performance will have a little more "vibe" or "groove" to it if that makes any sense. We're not going to be afraid to just take a song where it needs to go rather than micromanaging everything. It may end up being more of a pop-rock record than we've ever done before, but the ideas are just as quirky and intense as ever in my mind.
Upon completion of their new album, Polar Bear Club will tour North America in April as support on the upcoming Take Action Tour. They last released Chasing Hamburg in 2009.
