Henry Rollins, Peter Jackson react to West Memphis Three's release from prison

Henry Rollins has commented on the recent release of the West Memphis Three. Rollins, who was a ardent defender of the trio, said this to Entertainment Weekly:

It is a good day. My joy at hearing the news is however tinged with frustration that it took so long and that there is a person or persons who still need to be brought to justice.

Support for the release of the West Memphis Three has come from all over, including the punk world: two documentaries (Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills and Paradise Lost 2: Revelations) were produced, and in 2002 Henry Rollins organized Rise Above - 24 Black Flag Songs to benefit the WM3. It also recently came to light that Lord of the Rings director (and former horror movie maker) Peter Jackson was among those who helped fund the Three's defense. Jackson shared similar frustration with case:

We wanted to see Damien, Jason and Jessie walk free. That did happen, but not before we had to sit through a self righteous lecture from Arkansas State Prosector, Scott Ellington. Kind of tarnished the joy of seeing them released. I need to vent. Let's not think for a second that justice was served today. Far from it. Justice did not play a role in the proceedings this morning ... not to the 3 men who have been robbed of 18 years, not to the 3 young victims and their families, and certainly not to the people of Arkansas, whom the system is supposed to serve. There's also a triple child killer who has walked free for the last 18 years ... seemingly an unimportant detail in today's white-washing job.
