PunkVoter.com launched

Facetious Subheadline: Punknews commenters completely shocked and appalled at music/politics connection. "We didn't see this coming! There's no precedent for this!" says 13 year old mall-punk. Hastily written debate to follow. From Fat Wreck Chords: "In the
spirit of being responsible citizens and good ol' fashioned punk rock activism,
we bring you http://www.punkvoter.com.
As the November elections approach we all need to do our best to make sure the
vile Republicans DO NOT gain control of the Senate! It's gonna be real close,
and we can't give the village idiot George Jr. a blank check, so we all need to
do our part to vote against the GOP. We got big plans for punkvoter.com: there's
going to be news, guest columns written by some of your punk rock heroes, a
voting resource highlighting key elections, and a place to download flyers and
stickers so you can help spread the good word. Your teachers will love this
shit!

Oh yeah, and for all you playa-hatin' right-wing shitbirds out there who
"don't wanna hear about our politics...", well we can direct you to
some other label that puts out records about high school and girls. Ask Floyd,
he has an extensive list. I dunno what kinda shit you listened to, but we grew
up listening to the Sex Pistols, Minor Threat, Stiff Little Fingers, Dead
Kennedys, and The Clash to name a few. This music was conceived in, and reamins
true to the ideals of social progress and political awareness, so deal with it.
We punks gotta start doing something about these assholes that are making
decisions on our behalf, and we're hoping that by working together, we can
accomplish something truly positive. So join us! Go to the site, look around,
and sign up!"
