Pussy Riot supporters arrested in New York
New York City blog Gothamist is reporting that supporters of the Russian feminist punk collective Pussy Riot, who were marching in support of the group following the announcement of the guilty verdict by Russian courts, were being arrested by the NYPD. The police warned marchers that they were "obstructing a public sidewalk."
So far six arrests have been reported, with those arrested refusing to remove the brightly-colored balaclavas they were wearing in support of the band. You can see pictures from the march here.
