The Gaslight Anthem to begin work on next album
Though Handwritten wasn't released that long ago, The Gaslight Anthem is already ready to begin working on the follow up. Vocalist Brian Fallon posted an update as they embarked on their tour with Hot Water Music supporting Rise Against:
If you told my eighteen year old self that one day I'd be on tour with Hot Water Music, well, let's just say you couldn't contain me. This is awesome... and I've got a deep fondness for Rise Against's Tim [McIlrath], he's a great guy and a wonderful thinker. I learn a lot from my discussions with that guy. So we're gonna be writing songs on this tour, gearing up for whatever comes next. If you don't use it you lose it, I've heard. It'll be good to get to play a lot of these new songs live for you in the US. Our sets are looking heavy on the new songs, but there's some real old ones coming out too in order to balance it out.
The album was also their biggest selling release to date, with the band selling as many as 43,000 copies in the first week alone.
