Founding Member Howard Devoto Contributes To New Buzzcocks LP
As previously reported,
England's legendary Buzzcocks have signed
with Merge Records to release a self-titled
album (their 7th studio release) on March 18, 2003. The band recently posted
the track listing for the disc on their website along with the songwriting credits.
You can click below to see them. Of particulart interest is an appearance by
original Buzzcock Howard Devoto on two
tracks. Devoto founded the band in 1975 but exited in `77 after their debut
EP "Spiral Scratch" was released. He originally handelled lead vocals,
which were later picked up by Pete Shelly (although Devoto-fronted versions
of the band's early material can be heard on the "Time's Up" release).
No other information is available on further collaborations between Devoto and
the band.
