Springsteen to Front The Clash at Hall of Fame Induction?
"In a bizarre development, the U.K.'s Sunday Mail is reporting that Bruce Springsteen has volunteered to step in for the late Joe Strummer at the Clash's induction into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame next month. According to an unnamed source quoted in the article, "The Clash were hoping to reform while they were inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in March. Joe's sad death obviously meant plans were abandoned. The group would like to pay a personal tribute. Springsteen would be the ideal replacement for a one-off performance. Although they came from different musical backgrounds he and Joe weren't that different as singers. They both have that unique passion and energy."
