Beastie Boys win Monster lawsuit
The Beastie Boys have prevailed in their lawsuit against Monster Energy Drink. A jury awarded the group $1.7 million for damages stemming from copyright infringement and false endorsement claims. The group asked for $2.5 million, while Monster Energy Drink argued that it should owe the group no more than $125,000.
After the damages were awarded, B-Boy Adam Horovitz stated, "We're happy. We just want to thank the jury." An attorney for Monster said that they will appeal the verdict.
