Ian Watkins' ex-girlfriend found not guilty of child pornography charges
39-year-old Joanne Mjadzelics, ex-girlfriend of Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins, has been cleared of child pornography charges, according to the NME.
Mjadzelics had denied the charges all along, claiming that she had contacted the police as early as 2009 regarding Watkins' sexual abuse of children and was keeping the images as evidence against the disgraced Lostprophets singer. It was also reported that jurors had heard excerpts of a sex tape the two had made in 2008 where they discussed their plans to get Mjadzelics pregnant so they would have a child to abuse.
Watkins was sentenced to 29 years in jail for a variety of child sex offenses. He lost an appeal to reduce his jail sentence last July, with judges decreeing that the "shocking depravity" of his crimes warranted lengthier incarceration.
