Boots Riley of The Coup recieves grant for new movie

Boots Riley of The Coup was one of seven film makers to receive a grant from the San Francisco Film Society. The organization issues awards twice a year to “socially-minded narrative feature films that will elevate the Bay Area’s filmmaking culture.” Riley received a grant of $25,000 for the production of Sorry to Bother You. The Coup previously released the album Sorry to Bother You in 2012.
