130 people arrested in band-gear theft ring in Houston
As pointed out by Rock Feed the Houston Police department has arrested 130 people in connection with a band-gear theft ring. The DA's office plans to file over 200 charges and the police expect to arrest more people. The police department stated that the ring would specifically target public events, with a focus on music performances, and steal items from bands. The ring stole entire trailers and vans, and of course, the gear inside those vehicles. The group managed to snatch a 15 passenger van. Somehow, they even stole an entire line of motorcycles. The items were then sold through word of mouth or shipped to Mexico. The amount of items stolen may be up to two million dollars. The operation was called "Operation Wheels and Deals."
