Wayfarer release "Three Winters" EP raising money for refugee family
Kitchener, Ontario's Wayfarer has released a new 5 song EP titled Three Winters. The set is available as a pay-what-you-want download from BandCamp with a good cause attached. 50% of all proceeds from this album go towards Safaa and Feras Alkhalil, Syrian parents with four young children currently living in a refugee camp in Jordan. The money will go to a community group working to bring the Alkhalils to Hamilton, Ontario to reunite with other family members who've already made the journey.
The community group is charged with caring for the family once they arrive and will assist with housing, integration, and schooling for the children among other things. The goal is to raise $25,000 upfront to cover sponsorship costs. Wayfarer will be posting updates on the progress on their various social media platforms throughout the campaign. The band last released the Sleep Through to the Light LP in 2014.
