Charities: 24 Hour Punks write, record, and release EP in one day for charity
This past Tuesday saw the release of the first EP by 24 Hour Punks, titled Why We Fight. The project entails six musicians from six different acts getting together in the early morning and, from scratch, hashing out a few songs which are then polished, recorded, and released within 24 hours.
Per Millie Manders (of Millie Manders and The Shutup):
(we) set up in a rehearsal room in Bromley and started to write an EP. By 9am we had three songs. We got in our cars and headed to Hidden Track Studios to record, mix and master the three songs…
The EP is available as a name-your-price download, with proceeds going to the AAMF, a UK-based charity which raises funds for research and treatment of cholangiocarcinoma, a type of liver cancer.
The band will also be playing a charity gig on September 9th in London, at which at least one of the members' other bands will be playing (namely Popes of Chillitown), with other support TBA. You can check out the details of that gig, as well as title track of the EP below.
