Mayor of the Sunset Strip

us that Rolling Stone has reported
that influential KROQ DJ Rodney Bingenheimer
is the subject of a new documentary by George Hickenlooper titled "Mayor
of the Sunset Strip". Rodney helped give major exposure to a string of
genres from California 60s pop to glam, punk, goth, new wave and later alternative.
He helped introduce the Sex Pistols and the Clash to America. The LA screening
of the film was recently attended by members of Green Day, Rancid, No Doubt,
Rob Zombie, and the Bangles. The Offspring and Brian Wilson apparently gave
Bingenheimer a 2003 GTO at the event.
