Current Plans From Television & Rocket From The Tombs
Billboard
spike with Television's guitarist Richard Lloyd about the band's current plans.
Although the band released it's last studio album in 1992, they are considering
entering the studio again. Lloyd told Billboard "We have quite a few new
songs which get performed live, and we also talk about recording from time to
time...Currently we do not have record company funding, but [we] may do some recording
anyway... Although recording new material is desirable, we are in no hurry, which
is par for our course."
The NYC band has been touring in recent years. They are performing under 15 shows
a year at locations around the globe. The next shows lined up are September 25th
in Tokyo, the 21st in San Francisco and the 27th at the Asagiri Jam Festival in
Fujinomiya, Japan. Lloyd has been busy touring and recording with Rocket
From The Tombs, the late '70s Cleveland band that featured future
Pere Ubu frontman David Thomas and Dead Boys guitarist Cheetah Chrome. Rocket
From The Tombs will tour the U.S. in November and December.
As previously reported, Rhino will re-release the classic Television albums
'Marquee
Moon' and 'Adventure' as well as a live record 'Live at the Old Waldorf'
on September 23rd.
