Former Lostprophets singer charged with having phone in prison
Ian Watkins of Lostprophets is a bad, bad man that was convicted of child sex offenses and was sentenced to 35 years in prison. He is currently serving at HM Prison Wakefield in west Yorksire, England and is required to serve at least 29 years. His sentence began in 2013.
Recently, he was charged with possessing an "unauthorized item" (a cell phone) in prison between March 4 and March 10, 2018. Recently, he plead not guilty to the charge and has a trial set for August 5.
Prosecutor Stephen Wood said,"The issue here is that he was in possession of a mobile phone in his cell. I am not going into specific details about what was found on that phone. The jury will have to know about his previous convictions." If found guilty, Watkins could have additional time added onto his sentence.
