Hot Hot Heat Writing For New Record
Rolling Stone is reporting that
Victoria's Hot Hot Heat will head home to
British Columbia following their fall tour to record a follow up to 2002's Make Up the
Breakdown. The band will record in the spring with a summer release
scheduled. This will be the band's first new recording for Reprise
after the label snapped them up off of Sub Pop.
Frontman Steve Bays spoke to the magazine about some of the new material. The
band is playing a new track live titled "You're Making Such a Mess"
which Bays commented "People get into it the first time they hear it... It's really bizarre sounding, so it draws people in right away."
Bays goes on to describe a new untitled song: "It's got like a jungle, Oriental thing going
on... When we play it, it puts me in a weird mood. Any time anything affects your mood, that's a really good thing."
