The New Ads?

Well, I've gotten some e-mails, and questions about the new ads. Yeah, it's true that Bla-bla is handling my ads for now. Why? Well, it's not about money. I have a pretty good job, and I survive. I'm not interested in money, especially for this site. I was just hoping that bla-bla, would be able to push the site in places I wouldn't be able to get to. I really believe in this site, not just for the music, which I love, but because it's a community, not just a news site. I read almost every comment in every article. I recognize names, opinions, and everything. I just want to see more people involved. I've got a short contract (3 months) so it's more of a trial run than anything. But the idea is to see what they can do. I was pretty careful with the contracts, and I have complete control (as always) over content, and I can even refuse ads if I want. But I want to hear what you guys think, so please, feel free to fill this thing with comments, pro or con. So maybe bla-bla will get me some good press in some magazines I respect or help us. Or maybe they won't do squat, and I'll drop them. Only time will tell. Suffice to say, nothing changes, editorially, or otherwise. Update: Just a response to the people who keep asking what I'm doing with the money (as if there was much) Well, let's be honest. Do you ask the bands who you go see what they're doing with the money? To be fair, that's art, and this is a website, but I don't know why that's the biggest issue here. The ads and the ad revenue is incidental, the real reason for them is because bla-bla has promotional stuff I don't. No, I'm not interested in the Blink 182 crowd. Yes, I imagine bla-bla is. But they can advertise to those people, it's not like I cater to them. They'll come, they'll see it's not for them, and they'll go away. No harm done. But maybe one or two people who are interested in this kind of music, will give more bands, unknown bands, a chance, go to shows, contribute to the scene, and that's why I'm doing it.
