In Memoriam: Paul Di'Anno, former Iron Maiden vocalist, has passed away
Paul Di’Anno, the former vocalist of Iron Maiden, has passed away. He passed away at age 66. His passing was announced by his record label Conquest Music in a statement on Facebook which reads in part,
”On behalf of his family, Conquest Music are sad to confirm the death of Paul Andrews, professionally known as Paul Di'Anno. Paul passed away at his home in Salisbury at the age of 66.
[…]Despite being troubled by severe health issues in recent years that restricted him to performing in a wheelchair, Paul continued to entertain his fans around the world, racking up well over 100 shows since 2023.
His first career retrospective album, The Book of the Beast was released in September 2024 and featured highlights of his recordings since leaving Iron Maiden.
Conquest Music are proud to have had Paul Di'Anno in our artist family and ask his legion of fans to raise a glass in his memory.”
Paul Di’Anno was the lead vocalist for Iron Maiden from 1978-1981 and sang on their 1980 debut self-titled album, their 1981 album Killers, and their live EP Maiden Japan which was also released in 1981. Paul Di’Anno had a project called Di’Anno and also played with Gogmagog, Battlezone, Warhorse, Praying Mantis, and Killers. His career retrospective album was released earlier this year and a documentary film about his life is expected to be out later this year.
