New Karate album scheduled for September
Pitchfork is reporting that melancholy indie-jazz rockers Karate have wrapped up recording their new album, entitled Pockets. Frontman Geoff Farina said that the album is markedly shorter than in previous efforts, comparing it to the band's sophomore effort In Place Of Real Insight, at least lengthwise. Chris Brokaw of Codeine makes a guest appearance on guitar on two of the songs, Cacophony and Concrete. The eight-song set [tracklisting below] will be released by longtime label companions Southern Records this September.
