Break-ups: Guided By Voices (1985-2004)

Billboard is reporting that during a New York City concert last night, Guided By Voices frontman Robert Pollard announced that by the end of 2004, the band will be no more. The band will end "in a blaze of fire," said Pollard, with their last show being New Years Eve 2004 in New York City. Guided By Voices currently only has three Midwestern shows on their slate. Guided By Voices will see their last album, Half Smiles of the Decomposed, released on August 24th via Matador Records.
