Ted Leo / Pharmacists shake the sheets in October
Rolling Stone is reporting that Ted Leo / Pharmacists' next album will be titled Shake The Sheets and released on October 19th. The record, the follow up to 2003's Hearts Of Oak, was produced by Christopher Shaw (Weezer, The Rentals, Ween, Wilco). The album will include the song "Me and Mia," which is available on Leo's website, and a reworked version of "Bleeding Powers" from the Tell Balgeary, Balgury Is Dead EP.
Leo spoke to the magazine about the material, "There's another song called 'Counting Down the Hours' that's got a real hopped up Motown or Tamla kind of beat, kind of in the vein of the Jam's 'A Town Called Malice. We don't do a ton of stuff like that so it's a lot of fun to play. Then there's 'Little Dawn' which is actually pretty 'emo,' in the sense that it's emotional -- not whiny genre music."
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists are wrapping up their current tour with a date today in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The show is a Music For America benefit set to coincide with the ongoing Democratic National Convention. The band will tour in support of Shake The Sheets in October.
