Strung Out
Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues (1996)

The complete package. Strung Out solidifies themselves as the hard-core representatives of speed in the new pop-punk wave. User friendly enough that they don't produce the garage sound, but not over-produced so much that the music gets lost in the teen-angst. This album, unfortuantely, may be the only standout for the California group, as follow-up efforts like "Twisted By Design" and the more recent "Elements of Sonic Defiance" are yet to find the honesty and power of their predecessor. Still, for the faithful, Strung Out continues to represent the darker, more heavy side of pop-punk.
