Top 10 Stuff

10
Tyler, The Creator: Goblin
XL Recordings
Say whatever you want. This kid's talent, style and "swag" is something that can't be ignored. I'm more than comfortable saying that it won't be either.

9
Mogwai: Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will
Sub Pop
OK, the title for this album is fucking amazing obviously. But, my first listen to this only made me appreciate what they've done for that instrumental music I can't get enough of.

8
Balance and Composure: Separation
No Sleep
I was slightly obsessed with Separation. Well, a lot actually but if you love post-hardocre and the Ordination of Aaron type of Emo, this is the album for you.

7
Young Widows: In and Out of Youth and Lightness
Temporary Residence
Young Widows created an all-around amazing record here. This was something of a summer album for me and will remain an album I throw on no matter what mood I'm in.

6
Trap Them: Darker Handcraft
Prosthetic
This album really shows their progression and not to mention it's heavy as fuck. Prepare to not be able to listen to anything else for a few months once this hooks you in.

5
Polar Bear Club: Clash Battle Guilt Pride
Bridge Nine
Another album that I couldn't recall the times I listened to it on repeat. It actually took me a few listens to really get into, but damn, after the second try I was hooked. They show so much heart and have worked their asses off to be where they are today.

4
Touché Amoré: Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me
Deathwish
I've heard the argument with this album that "it's too short." It feels perfectly packaged to me and only makes me more excited for more new music from these guys. Isn't that point?

3
Defeater: Empty Days & Sleepless Nights
Bridge Nine
I really couldn't even guess how many times I listened to this album on repeat. The storyline, aggression, all of it just flows together into something you can't get enough of. And live? Try not to lose your shit.

2
Ampere: Like Shadows [12-inch]
No Idea
15 songs in less than 15 minutes. Enough said.

1
Post Teens: Post Teens [7-Inch]
Sound Study Recordings
Even as a Gainesville native, I'm trying not to let my favoritism show. I've seen them play at the Junkyard, in a room no bigger than a bedroom and then at Common Grounds. No matter the location, gear or time, this band will blow every expectation you have out of the water.
