Clit 45

Self-Hate Crimes (2005)

John_Doe

When you hear a name like Clit 45, it will almost instantly catch your attention. Even with that attention-getter band name, their music speaks for itself. After getting this CD when it was released, I eagerly listened to it. The first time I was not all that impressed, but once I heard it a second time, it quickly became one of my favorite CDs that I own.

The band's songs don't exactly sound the same, and they each have their own identity to them. When I think of a punk band putting something out, it is normally the same old drinking songs or about violence on the streets. This band is more about the music than anything, and it is evident once you hear this album.

After all the years of creating a national and international fan-base, it is time that Clit 45 got the respect that they deserve. For all that this band has gone through it is amazing to realize they are still around. From band members dying while touring to the drug problems they have endured, these problems show up in their music.

One of my favorite tracks, "Caught In A Crack," deals with the drug addiction, but is actually a very good song. The track "Teeth On The Floor" is a song that will get most kids pumped up when they hear it at a live show. The musical riffs just get the body pumping, and will probably whip crowds up into a frenzy while this song is being played. And finally, probably the best track on this album is "The Storm Is Over;" this is just an amazing song, and shows the most of their musical talents. But the entire album has songs displaying this passion of theirs, and they all have their own positive qualities that I am just too lazy to type out. So check their stuff out here.

If you are into the Lower Class Brats, the Casualties, Virus, Cheap Sex, Endless Struggle, Action, or the early Unseen stuff, you will probably get into this album.
