Not Sorry

Moving On [7 inch] (2009)

Brian Shultz

Not Sorry do a refreshing blast of fast, angry, '80s-styled youth crew hardcore with their six-song Moving On 7".

While ex-member(s) of How We Are and the Disaster are present, Not Sorry have a little more of an outspoken vegan straight-edge philosophy--but only a little more. I mean, their band name is pretty unapologetic about the whole thing after all, but you still won't be directly preached to; specifically, that leniency is practiced in "Balance," where you'll find the band giving an apparent call-to-arms for animal rights without ever directly mentioning the idea in itself. I suppose that's one way to go about it without alienating a potential converter.

A good musical reference point might be Turning Point circa the self-titled 7", as there's definitely a gravelly "yowwww!" to John's voice but he never sounds too brute.

Not that sustaining someone's attention for nine minutes should be the most challenging thing in the world, but Not Sorry get it done on this while trying to subtly get some activism motivation across.
