The Dropkick Murphys will be appearing in a nationally televised rally for the Boston Red Sox this Friday. Epitaph is reporting the following details:

Tentatively scheduled for noon Friday, a rally will be held for the World Series champions the Boston Red Sox. The event will be held in front of the statehouse on Beacon Street. Massachusetts governor will be in attendance and be speaking at the rally. Some Red Sox players will also be in attendance. Every major TV station will be broadcasting the event live

There's no word yet on what the band's role in the festivities is exactly, so tune in to find out. The Murphys released a single at the end of August titled Tessie, an update of the Royal Rooters fight song that benefitted the Red Sox Foundation.
