Magnus from the Satanic Surfers recently posted a huge update on the band's website. Included in it was their recording plans:
The plan right now is to start recording demos for the new album. The demos will be recorded in Rodrigo's studio, which is located in our rehearsal room. This time we have decided to actually go through with the plan to have the entire pre-production finished and on tape before we enter the studio to begin the proper recording. This will enable us to get the most out of the songs. It might mean that the date for the recording has to be pushed back a bit, but once we're in the studio we will be able to work so much faster, plus the overall result will be better. As far as any dates regarding the new album, we don't want to make any promises we can't keep. As soon as we have set a date, it will be posted here. The main focus is to rehearse as much as we can, but with all of us tied up with other commitments (other bands, work, and school), it's sometimes hard for us to find the time to get together. Anyway, we're all very happy with the new songs and we will do our best to finish everything in the foreseeable future."
Also there's word that Rodrigo Alfaro's other band Intensity will be going on hiatus for a lengthy period as the members pursue other commitments and the Surfers increase their activity.

"OK, time for another update. We've just finished all our scheduled shows for this year. Much to our luck the last one was in Cannes which was a welcome departure from the cold weather in Sweden. We also got a chance to catch up with our Canadian friends in Belvedere, who must be the hardest working band in punkrock. Check them out if you get a chance.
All in all this has been a great year for us. As we have reported earlier, 2003 was a slow year for us with departing members. But with Andy joining in November last year and Samsa in March this year, everything fell back into place again. The rehearsals went well so we decided to play some shows. We ended up doing quite a few one-off shows plus a shorter tour. But while this is probably the main reason why we still haven't set a recording date for the new album, it was very important for us to get a chance to play as much as possible with the new line-up. This also gave us an excuse to get out of the rehearsal room for a while. We couldn't wait to get back out on the road. We would like to take the opportunity to thank everybody that came to the shows and made them great!
