At the end of November The Sundance Institute announced the line-up of films for the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. Part of the event is the Documentary Competition, in which 16 American documentaries, chosen from 624 entries, will compete. One of the films premiering is New York Doll, directed by Greg Whiteley. The film is described as in the press release as follows: " A recovering alcoholic and recently converted Mormon, Arthur "Killer" Kane, of the rock band The New York Dolls, is given a chance at reuniting with his band after 30 years."
The festival takes place from January 20th to the 30th in Park City, Utah. New York Dolls bassist Arthur "Killer" Kane passed away on July 13th of this year.
